Kültür A.Ş. is a commercial corporation that was
established on October 2, 1989, within the body of the Istanbul Metropolitan
Municipality to offer
cultural, artistic and tourist services. Kultur A.S. closely follows the
developments and innovations in the field of culture and art in Turkey and the
world. The company offers high quality services in line with the objectives for
which it was established. There are many poems written about various cities;
however, Istanbul
is a poem itself. With the responsibility of serving the capital of
civilizations, Istanbul,
Kultur A.S. has brought together the East and the West with international
activities like "Tashkent-Lima Poem Line". Works have been sped up to
declare Istanbul,
already a capital of history and culture, as the Cultural Capital of Europe.
Istanbul is a city with a rich cultural heritage. Our city played host to many
civilizations throughout history. Istanbul,
with its historical texture formed through the centuries, is one of the most
popular cities in the world. Social life, education institutions, developments
in science and flora and climate among all other beauties.
Kültür A.Ş. operates Miniaturk (Miniature Park of
Turkey), Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall, Tarık
Zafer Tunaya
Culture Center,
İdris Güllüce Culture
Center, Mecidiyeköy
Culture Center,
the Basilica Cistern and the Cemal Reşit Rey Studio, all of which belong to the
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
Kültür A.Ş. contributed to the collection of books on Istanbul with the unique books that it
published.
Kültür A.Ş. organizes activities in the cultural sites
it operates. These activities etch themselves into people's memories. The
Basilica Cistern, as an example, which was restored and opened to visitors as a
museum, hosts poetry recitations, concerts and exhibitions that featured many
domestic and foreign artists. Miniaturk, a giant project comprised of scale models
of Turkey's architectural
and cultural wonders, has already become one of Istanbul's crown jewels. |
